- Description
Ali Farhadi, as the Public Prosecutor of Karaj, is responsible for ignoring the principles of fair trial, and issuing and executing death sentences for minors under 18, including the execution of Alireza Mullah Soltani. During Ali Farhadi's tenure, many prisoners were sentenced to death in the Karaj Prosecution Office. These rulings were issued in non-transparent and extra-legal processes. Ali Farhadi, referring to the execution of 12 people in Karaj on 30 August, 2007, said: "The public execution of 12 miscreants was carried out with the participation of the Karaj Prosecution Office and Evin Prison to teach others a lesson during the last week."
In February 2011, seven drug-related prisoners were hung at the Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj. In March 2014, Farhadi announced the execution of three prisoners in Karaj: "Execution of these sentences in public is a sign of the authority of the police and the judiciary."
