      Description
Asghar Zarei, as director general of central security at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, has been instrumental in preventing Baha'i’s from studying in the higher education institutions because of their religious beliefs. In 2006, during his tenure in charge of the Central Security of the Ministry of Science, a confidential circular on "Prohibition of Baha'is from Studying in Universities" was signed by Zarei and sent to all universities and higher education centres across the country. This has prevented a large number of Baha'i students from entering the universities and continuing their education across the country.
