Azizollah Rajabzadeh, as the Commander of the Tehran Police Force, had a key role in suppressing, detaining, torturing and killing protesters after the 2009 elections, including:

The attack on the university dormitory on 15 June 2009,

The suppression of protesters on the 26 (Tasoa) and the 27 of December (Ashura) in 2009 which led to the death of at least 11,

Transferring the detainees to Kahrizak Detention Centre where at least 3 detainees died under torture.
Following the announcement of the results of the 10th Iranian presidential election and the victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, widespread protests were held in Iranian cities. The protests were brutally suppressed by the riot police, the IRGC and Basij, killing at least 70 people, injuring thousands and widespread arrests.
