As the head of the Human Rights Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Shoushtari has been responsible for continuing human rights violations and providing immunity for human rights violators in Iran, through dismissing reports of human rights violations and refusing to fulfil his legal responsibility in pursuing and conducting independent and effective investigations into reports of human rights violations in Iran.
