Mohammad Reza Amoozad, as the head of Branch 24 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, had a direct responsibility for issuing heavy prison sentences for the detainees of November 2019 nationwide protests without observing the procedure and the rights of the accused. February 6, 2017, Rezvaneh Ahmad Khanbegi, a civil activist and one of the detainees of the November 2019 protests, was sentenced to six years in prison by Judge Amoozad.
March 2019 Mehdi Bagheri, one of the detainees of the November 2017 protests, was sentenced by Amoozad to 5 years in prison. Bagheri has been denied the right to defend himself in court.
February 6, 2019 Mehdi Naqdi, another detained protester, was sentenced by Branch 24 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Amoozad, to three years in prison.
Peyman Gholami, one of the detainees of November 2019 protests, was sentenced to 8 years in prison and 74 lashes by Judge Amoozad.
Reza Sarvelayati, another detainee of November 2019 protests, was sentenced to 10 years in prison by Branch 24 of the Revolutionary Court, headed by Amoozad. He has been denied the right to access to a lawyer.

Mohammad Reza Amoozad is responsible for issuing a sentence of 2 years in prison and 74 lashes for Athena Daemi, a civil activist, during an unjust process and without observing the principles of a fair trial.
On July 1, 2020, Athena Daemi, a civil activist imprisoned in Evin Prison, was sentenced by Branch 24 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran to two years in prison and 74 lashes for a case filed against her during her imprisonment. Daemi, who has been serving a 5-year sentence in Evin Prison since 2016, was sentenced to 3 years and 7 months in prison in another case that was opened against her in July of last year, of which 25 months are applicable.

As an advising judge to Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, Mohammad Reza Amoozad was responsible for issuing the death sentence for Ruhollah Zam, a journalist and director of the Telegram Channel Amad News.
Ruhollah Zam was lured from France to Iraq by Iranian intelligence agents and then transferred to Iran, where he was tried and sentenced to death in Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Salavati and Judge Mohammad Reza Amoozad. The death sentence of Ruhollah Zam was carried out without the knowledge of his lawyer and family on December 13, 2020.

Mohammad Reza Amoozad, as an advising judge to Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, has been responsible for issuing death sentences for detainees of the November 2019 protests, including Amir Hossein Moradi, Saeed Tamjidi, and Mohammad Rajabi. In February 2020, Amir Hossein Moradi, Saeed Tamjidi, and Mohammad Rajabi, detainees of the November 2019 protests, were sentenced to death, 38 years in prison, and 222 lashes. The detainees repeatedly stated that they had been severely tortured and beaten during interrogation by security police to obtain forced confessions.
The nationwide protests of 2019, known as the protests of November 2019, were a series of large-scale popular demonstrations against the Iranian government, which began on November 15, 2019 in protest of the tripling of gasoline prices and quickly turned into anti-government protests that spread to 29 provinces in more than 100 cities across the country. The protests were brutally suppressed by the security and military forces. According to Amnesty International, at least 304 people were killed in the protests.

Mohammad Reza Amouzad, the head of Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, is responsible for issuing an 11-year prison sentence for Arash Ganji, a writer, translator and member of the Writers' Association of Iran, on charges of "propaganda against the regime" and "membership and cooperation with an opposition group." . According to Ganji’s lawyer, the evidence of all these accusations against this member of the Writers' Association of Iran is the translation of a book about the developments in Syrian Kurdistan entitled "The Small Key to the Big Gates".
