- Description
By failing to fulfill his legal duty in securing the rights of defendants and prisoners after the protests against the results of the 2009 elections, he has played a role in violating the rights of these prisoners such as rejecting the leave request of a political prisoner, Peyman Aref, by exerting the influence of the Ministry of Intelligence.
Following the announcement of the results of the 10th presidential election in Iran and the victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, widespread protests took place in Iranian cities. The protests resulted in the brutal suppression by riot police, the IRGC and the Basij, killing at least 70 protestors and several detainees, and injuring thousands.
