      Description

Using threats, intimidation, beating, and other repressive measures, the forces headed by Seyed Mohammad Moghimi have violated the students’ right to freedom of assembly.

Since the early days of the 2022-2023 uprising in Iran, Hossein Izadiar has worked with Tehran University’s security staff to repeatedly attack student gatherings and threatening them with framing a case against them. Insulting, threatening, assaulting and beating students, the security staff have either prevented them from holding gatherings or disrupted their rallies.

The 2022 nationwide protests in Iran broke out following the murder of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Islamic Republic’s Morality Police on 13th of September. The protests continued in various forms in different cities for over three months. According to reports by human rights organizations, at least 469, including 63 children and 32 women, have been killed by the law enforcement and security forces of the Islamic Republic.
