1. As judge for the second branch of the Revolutionary Court of Urmia, Ali Sheikhlou is responsible for issuing and implementing death sentences against political activists with no respect for due legal process and human rights.
He was involved in the issuance and execution of the state-sanctioned death sentences of Muhyiddin Ebrahimi and Hedayat Abdollahpour as well as the issuance of the state-sanctioned death sentence of Shaker Behrouzi and Hamed Ghareughlani.
Mohiuddin Ebrahimi, a Kurdish political prisoner, was executed on the charge of baghy (armed rebellion) on 17 March 2023, and Hedayat Abdollahpour was executed by firing squad on 11 May 2020.
