      Description

      Mohammad Ali Zolfi-Gol, in his capacity as the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, is responsible for the violation of right to freedom of expression through the suspension and expulsion of professors from universities across the country because of their support for the protests.

      Professors of Tehran University have been purged for protesting and declaring support for students in the 2022 Uprising.

      Nationwide protests broke out in Iran in September 2022, after the death of Jina Mahsa Amini in custody of the morality police. Protests continued into 2023, in small pockets across the country. According to reports from human rights organisations, security forces were responsible for the deaths of 537 people, including 68 children.

      Mohammad ali Zolfigol, in his capacity as the president of Allameh Tabataba'i University, is responsible for the expulsion, filing of cases, and detention of students.

      In the 2022 protests, students played a prominent role in protests and supporting the protesting people. Students at Allameh Tabataba'i University have been summoned, expelled, and detained for protesting, gathering, and taking refuge in the university.

      The 2022 nationwide protests in Iran broke out following the murder of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Islamic Republic’s Morality Police on 13th of September. The protests continued in various forms in different cities for over three months. According to reports by human rights organizations, at least 537, including 68 children, have been killed by the law enforcement and security forces of the Islamic Republic.
