As the director of Evin Prison, he was responsible for the death of Sina Ghanbari in Evin Prison. Sina Ghanbari was arrested during the protests in January 2018 and transferred to Evin Prison. Six days after his transfer, Islamic Republic officials announced that he had committed suicide in prison.
