In his role as Deputy Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Tehran and Acting Head of the Prosecutor's Office for Tehran District 33 (Shahid Moghaddas), Nasiri Pour is responsible for issuing indictments for participating in the 2022 -2023 protests.
He has requested from the courts to punish these women and has issued the following charges against them on that basis of: • Gathering and conspiring to commit a crime against internal/external security (Mahsa) • Disturbing public order and peace through participation in illegal gatherings (Mahsa)
The 2022-23 protests began following the death of Mahsa (Jina) Amini on September 13, 2022, in the detention of the morality police of the Islamic Republic.
These protests quickly spread across the country and are remembered as the largest revolutionary uprising against the government since the establishment of the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian government responded to these protests with deadly violence. According to human rights organizations, the security forces of the Islamic Republic have killed at least 551 people, with a minimum of 68 of them being children.

Mohammad Nasiripour, as Deputy Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor of Tehran and Head of the District 33 (Shahid Moghaddas) Prosecutor's Office of Tehran, is responsible for issuing indictments and sentencings for women arrested during the Women, Life, Freedom protests for not observing mandatory hijab.
The charges issued on that basis include: • Encouraging people to corrupt and immoral behaviour (Mahsa), either through o Removing hijab in public streets; or o Participating in the anti-revolutionary challenge known as free hugs for the sorrowful people of Iran
The 2022-2023 protests began following the killing of Mahsa (Jina) Amini on September 13, 2022, while in the custody of the Islamic Republic's Moral Security Police. Amidst the protests and afterwards, women have resisted the mandatory hijab in various ways and have suffered widespread repression, including denial of public services, education, arrest, court cases, fines, and imprisonment.
