- Moshari is responsible for issuing prison sentences and fines for women who resisted the mandatory hijab. He has tried and convicted women on the charge of: Appearing and being present in public places without observing the Islamic hijab. The 2022-2023 protests began following the killing of Mahsa (Jina) Amini on September 13, 2022, while in the custody of the Islamic Republic's Moral Security Police. Amidst the protests and afterwards, women have resisted the mandatory hijab in various ways and have suffered widespread repression, including denial of public services, education, arrest, court cases, fines, and imprisonment.
