- Efterkhariyar is responsible for issuing indictment order for women on the basis of their failure to comply with standards of mandatory hijab. He is also responsible for preparing cases and issuing women with charges such as: Encouraging people to corruption and immorality; such as by Appearing in the streets in an inappropriate appearance to communicate with passing vehicles. The 2022-2023 protests began following the killing of Mahsa (Jina) Amini on September 13, 2022, while in the custody of the Islamic Republic's Moral Security Police. Amidst the protests and afterwards, women have resisted the mandatory hijab in various ways and have suffered widespread repression, including denial of public services, education, arrest, court cases, fines, and imprisonment.
