- As an investigator, Firouzabadi has been responsible for issuing indictment order for women who did not observe the hijab during the ”Woman, Life, Freedom” protests and requested that the prosecutor issue an indictment against them, on charges of: • Encouraging people to corruption and immorality; through Removing the hijab during riots. The 2022-2023 protests began following the killing of Mahsa (Jina) Amini on September 13, 2022, while in the custody of the Islamic Republic's Moral Security Police. Amidst the protests and afterwards, women have resisted the mandatory hijab in various ways and have suffered widespread repression, including denial of public services, education, arrest, court cases, fines, and imprisonment.
